‘Introduction to Lighting in Maya’ provides three hours of practical scenarios demonstrating several creative practices and time-saving workflows to lighting.
“As much of the magic comes in the final stages of production, proper lighting can help exude the feel, mood, and atmosphere in addition to just a gorgeous shot,” said Kyle Green, Director of Curriculum at Digital-Tutors. “In Introduction to Lighting in Maya, we teach artists new and experienced with Maya the fundamentals of lighting, how to work with different types of shadows, creating effects often difficult to emulate, and proper placement and setups for different scenarios. We highly recommend this title as a learning resource for all artists seeking information on lighting and wishing to gain greater realism in their renders,” added Green.
The Gnomon Workshop announced three new additions to its 3D and 2D libraries. Zack Petroc (SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW) returns with Volume 2 of his ART DIRECTION AND DIGITAL SCULPTING series, utilizing ZBrush 3. Meanwhile, new instructors Henry Goecke (POSEIDON) and Jeremy Vickery (RATATOUILLE, WALL-E) offer the basics of modeling surfaces in StudioTools and light and color theory from a practical perspective as applied to 2D and 3D image creation, respectively.
